Episode Description: Tarot Trivia will take place on Instagram Live. Comments will be turned off to prevent viewers from potentially sharing answers. Two contestants will be chosen to play head-to-head in three rounds of Tarot Trivia. The contestant with the most accumulated points at the end of the third round wins. If a contestant is late for the scheduled recording, an alternate contestant will be invited to play in their place.
One contestant will be chosen at random to start the first round of questions. The first round will have questions pertaining to details found in the cards and the contestant’s ability to identify a card based on vocalized descriptive clues. The second round of questions will involve visually identifying Tarot cards via cropped imagery from specific cards. The third round will have more difficult questions, some pertaining to Tarot history and facts about the Marseille, Thoth and/or Rider Waite Smith Tarot decks.
Each player will have the opportunity to answer two questions in the first two rounds. The third round will have three questions for each player. Contestants will have ten seconds to answer each question, with the countdown commencing after the question is completely stated. Once a question is asked, the contestant has ten seconds to answer directly or to request multiple choice options. If the contestant directly answers the question correctly, they will receive 5 points. If the contestant requests multiple choice options, they will receive four answer options to choose from and a correct answer will receive 3 points. The contestant will have ten seconds to answer once the last multiple-choice option is given. Incorrect answers will not receive any points.
If there is a tie between contestants at the end of the third round, a tie-breaker question will be presented where contestants will be asked the same question at the same time and will have to write down their answers within the same ten second time frame. Contestants will then be asked to show their written answer to the host. Whoever answers correctly wins. Contestants will need to have paper and a marker ready in case of a tie-breaker situation. Winners will be sent their prize, which will be presented during Tarot Trivia as well as announced prior to recording on @tarot.art.witch, within two weeks after the episode airs.
